The National Senior Track and Field Championships took place in Santry on the 22nd and 23rd August. It must be said that conditions at this year’s Championships were very demanding with strong blustery wind to contend with over the two days along with a scattering of heavy showers. The Dublin Graded track meet took place in mid August in Tallaght. Sean Tobin competed in the 5000m race in what were warm conditions. The race started and a group of three, including Sean, began to set a strong even pace, averaging laps of 67 secs, that soon saw them draw clear of the rest

The Galtymore 13 km Hill run took place over the bank holiday weekend and Paul Minogue was competing in what was a very good quality race. This type of running is not for the faint hearted as this terrain gives you everything, hills, soft ground, climbs and more hills where the descents can be tougher

The Le Cheile AC Night of 5ks took place on their track in Leixlip last Friday night. The last race of the night was for sub 16-minute athletes and here we had Evan Fitzgerald on the starting line. The race with 22 athletes started and after about 3 laps a group of three athletes began

This popular event took place again this year but under different conditions. Dur to Covid 19 this year’s event was an invitational event and it was great to see two Club members competing in what was a high-quality race. The Moyne AC Summer games took place last weekend and it was great to see the Club colours prominent in three of the races, all recording impressive performances.
