Great performances at the Great Irish Trail Run in Clonmel

Clonmel was the venue last Sunday morning for a trail run over the World Master Hill run course scheduled for September. It was great to see club members taking part in this event, on a warm sunny day. The event started on the Raheen road and athletes made their way up to near the cross and then followed the route over towards the Canon Wood and surrounding hinterland before coming back to the finish at the Holy Year Cross. Athletes had a choice of the long course or the short route. In the long course Dermot Logue put in a great performance when finishing 17th in 58 mins 22 secs. We also had good performances from Sarah Whelan 46th in 68 mins 46 secs, Sareen Walsh 59th in 73 mins 53 secs, Eddie Meegan 74th in 82 mins 1 secs and Helen O Ceallaigh 76th in 82 mins 41 secs. Over the shorter route we had good performances from Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy 6th in 53 mins 37secs, Sean O Dea 57 mins 9 secs and Bernard Feery 13th in 57 mins 44 secs.
