Sean Tobin travelled to Nice in his latest bid to accumulate points for Olympic selection in the men’s 5,000m last Saturday night. With some of the world’s greatest athletes still scrambling for automatic selection, Sean got caught up in another super-fast race. His great effort came unstuck around the 4k mark, but he never gave up and battled all the way to the line to finish in 13 mins 49.99 secs.
He can now look forward with confidence to the National Track and Field Championships in Santry in a fortnights time as he aims to add the National 5000m title to his long list of National titles.
