Magnificent Display by Clonmel AC at County Indoors.

The County Indoor Juvenile Track and Field Championship took place in Nenagh on Saturday the 16th and a large number of athletes travelled. 
We had multiple County Champions with Clonmel AC’s best showing ever on the podium. As well as winning Silver in the girls u10 relay ( Cara Ryan, Caroline Smith, Sarah Whelan, Sara O Reilly) silver in the girls u12 relay ( Eavann Duffy, Emer Brennan, Emma Kiely, Mia English) silver in the boys u12 relay ( Adhvaith, Harry Weymouth, Jack O’Donnell Kennedy, Darragh Boland) Gold in the boys u13( Killian Whelan Adhvaith, Louis Carroll, Sean Mullins) Gold in the boys u14 ( Cian Flaherty, Conor O’Gorman, Cathal O’Gorman, Michael O Reilly) Gold in the boys u15 ( Thomas Smith, Conor O Loughlin, Cian Flaherty, Conor O Gorman) Gold in the boys u16 ( Matthew Buckley, Conor Flaherty, Conor O’Loughlin, Thomas Smith) and Bronze in the girls u16 ( Muireann Duffy, Celine Durand, Hazel Brennan, Ruby Carroll) relays teams we had many individual medal winners.

In the boys u10 we had Sam O Donovan winning the Gold in the 60m sprint and Toby Hayes who ran very well in the same race. In the girls u10 we had Cara Ryan doing the double when winning the 60m sprint and the Long Jump. In the u11 boys we had Harry Weymouth winning Gold in the 300m and we also had some great running from Hugh Carolan, Liam Proven, Conor James Williams and Liam Mullins. In the u11 girls we saw very good performances from Alice Meegan, Eadaoin Duffy and Niamh Clarke.

In the u12 boys our sole competitor Adhvaith Divakaran won Gold in the High Jump. In the u12 girls Eavann Duffy won Gold in the 600m. In the u13 boys Killian Whelan won Gold in the Long jump, Silver in the Shot putt, Silver in the 60m and Bronze in the 60m Hurdles, Sean Mullins won Bronze in the 600m and Louis Carroll won Bronze in the High Jump. In the u13 girls Aoife Carmody won Gold in the 1km walk, Meabh Meegan won Silver in the 1km walk. We also had very good performances from Jenna Hayes, Rachel Buckley and Saofra O’Loughlin. In the u14 boys we had Conor O’Gorman winning Silver in the 800m, Cian Flaherty winning Bronze in the Long Jump and Bronze in the 60m and Matthew Buckley winning Silver in the Shot putt. In the boys u15 we had Thomas Smith winning Bronze in the 60m and Silver in the 800m, Conor O’Loughlin bronze in the 800m and Sam O Sullivan winning Gold in the 1km walk. In the u16 boys Conor Flaherty won Silver in the High Jump, Bronze in the 60m and Silver in the 800m. In the girls u16 Celine Durand won Silver in the 800m, Muireann Duffy won Bronze in the 800m and Grainne O’Connor won Gold in the 1.5km walk. Also in the u16 girls Saoirse Tracy was just outside the medal positions with her 4th place finish in the 800m and ran in the final of the 60m.

In the junior boys Lorcan O ‘Keeffe won Bronze in the 1500m. In the junior girls Raise Flaherty won Gold in the 1500m and Cailin Napier won Silver in the 400m, Silver in the Long Jump and Gold in the 800m.

In total Clonmel AC came home with 66 medals 27 Golds, 25 Silvers and 14 Bronze and had 11 individual County Champions.
