Great performances by Club members at the Poulmucka Races

The Poulmucka Road races took place last Friday night and it was great to see many Club members taking part in this event, organised by our friends in Poulmucka and promoted by the Club. In the 8k race Conor Fleming, Club Chairman, ran very well when finishing 4th overall in 29:47. Then we had Niall O Ceallaigh running very well over familiar territory when finishing 15th in 31:39, with James Denn and Oliver Lynch finishing 18th (32:18) and 19th (32:21) respectively. Then we had Aine Roche running well to finish 2nd woman in 32:47 with Barry Horgan 23rd in 32:/52. We also had good performances from Sean McCarthy 31st in 33:50, Rebecca Doocey also ran very well when winning the women’s over 40 award in 33:54 and a massive improvement on last year’s run of 38:29, Anna Marie Boland 33rd in 33:57, Anthony Power 35th in 34:18, his 2nd race in 24 hours having won the over 55 award at the Fota Island 5K in a new PB of 20:54, James O Brien 38th in 33:53, Nicola Maunsell 39th in 36 mins, Dan O Keeffe 43rd in 36:21, Ned O Brien also ran very well when winning the over 60 award in 36:30, Michael Doocey 46th in 36:38, Anna Byrne also ran very well when winning the women’s over 50 award in 36:41, Tom Barry 48th in 37:31, Eddie Prendergast 50th in 37:33, Billy Moloney 53rd in 37:45, Donie Casey 58th in 38:35, Michael Ryan 63rd in 39:01, Keith Robinson 64th in 39:19, Noel Howley 85th in 41:44, Donna Nagle 93rd in 42:13, Szilvia McGee 94th in 42:18, Cathy Mansfield 95th in 42:18, William Lonergan 103rd in 44:18, Paula Dwan 108th in 44:48, Claire Falvey 110th in 45:39, Anna McGarry 115th in 46:51 and Eamonn Crowley 121st in 48:31.

The 5k also saw the Club well represented with Colm McCarthy running very well to win in 17 mins 55 secs and a massive improvement on his winning time last year of 18 mins 47 secs, great running. Then we had Daniel Slattery also running very well when finishing 3rd in 19 mins 33 secs. We also had good performances from Connor O Gorman 4th in 20 mins, Georgina Gilligan 31st in 31:22 and Lorraine Kennedy 45th in 47:57.
