The Universities Road Relay Championships took place last weekend in Maynooth, and it was great to see club members competing well for their respective colleges. In the women’s relay (format of a mile, 2 miles, 2 mile and a mile) Emma Murray competing for University College Cork ran the first leg over a mile and put in a great effort when running 6 mins 22 secs, her team finished a very close 4th, just a total of 5 seconds over the four legs, off the bronze medals. It was great to see Siobhan Whelan back competing when running for DCU and running the mile leg in 5 mins 48 secs. Her sister Moya, on the Trinity College team also ran well over the 2-mile leg when finishing in 12 mins 58 secs. Roise Flaherty representing UCC ran well over the mile leg when finishing in 6 mins 55 secs.
