Great performances at the Munster Juvenile B cross country

The Munster Juvenile B cross country was held in Castlelyons on Sunday last and a small group travelled but came home with an array of medals. In the girls under 9 race we were one short for a club team but the 3 girls that did race put in brilliant performances with Judy O Donnell placing 14th, Zoe Noctor placing 19th and Faye Hallinan placing 20th. Judy and Zoe were on the Tipperary county team that finished 2nd. Next up for Clonmel was Ellie O Donnell in the girls under 11 1000m and she put in a great race to come home in 55th place in a field of over 140 starters. In the Girls under 13 race over 1500m Alice Meegan ran brilliantly to place 51st which was just outside the scoring six on the Tipperary county team that finished 2nd. In the boys under 13 race we had two competitors both no stranger to competitions or winning Munster medals. Darragh Boland’s performance was the performance of the day for Clonmel AC athletes coming home in 3rd place. Harry Weymouth also had a fantastic race placing 48th and both lads were on the Tipperary team that finished in Bronze position. Our final race of the day for Juveniles was Meabh Meegan in the girls under 15 race over 2500m and Meabh put in a stellar performance with her 27th place finish which earned her a spot on the Tipperary team that placed 2nd.

Well done to all our athletes and thank you again to parents, coaches and team managers.

The County B championship is being held in Moyne on Sunday next and is open to all non-medal winners from County and Munster Championships. Please contact your coach.
