Great performances at the John Buckley 10 Mile

The John Buckley 10 Mile Road race took place last weekend and it was great to see the Club very well represented as this event was organised by St Finbarr’s AC and they are great supporters of our Half Marathon over the years. Angela McCann ran a great race when finishing 3rd woman in 59 mins 42 secs when finishing 36th. This was a brilliant run by Angela who was breaking the 60 minutes barriers for this Classic distance for the 1st time in a few years. Indeed, last January she ran 63:54 in the John Treacy 10 Mile, some improvement in 6 months. Then we had Brian Carroll also running a great race when finishing 46th in 61 mins 57 secs. We also had good performances from Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy 103rd in 67:01 and Niall O Shea 105th in 67:09 and a massive improvement on his JT10 run last January when clocking 71:11 for the distance. Anthony Power is another athlete who is running very well at the moment when posting a new PB by finishing 164th in 69:54, 1st time breaking 70 minutes for this Classic distance. Alan O Shea ran very well when finishing 193rd in 71:59 and is another athlete showing great improvement on his JT10 run of 74:38. Sean O Dea showed that his training is going very well at the moment when finishing 202nd in 72:41, greatly improving on his JT10 run of 74:41. Michelle Doherty ran very well when finishing 207th in 72:54 and greatly improving on her PB of 73:45 set in the JT10. Aisling English is another athlete whose training is going very well at the moment as she posted a major PB when finishing 236th in 74:07 and improving greatly on her JT10 time of 78:55. We also had a very good performance from Pat Walsh 297th in 76:39 who posted a new PB when improving greatly on his JT10 run of 79:54. Kenny Brett also wrote new figures for this Classic distance when finishing 332nd in 77:50, an improvement on his JT10 run of 78:40, Angela Walsh is another athlete showing great progress this year as she posted a PB for this distance when finishing 342nd in 78:07 and a marked improvement on her JT10 run of 81:58. We also had good performances from Eddie Prendergast 446th in 81:43 and Eamonn English 461st in 82:23. Then we had Victor Direen also writing new figures for this distance when finishing 467th in 82:31, improving greatly on his JT10 run of 84:54. We also had good performances from Lizzie Ryan 575th in 86:17, Mellissa McCarthy 603rd in 87:24, Denise Donnelly 655th in 88:58, Brian Tyrrell 660th in 89:18, Jo Brett 780th in 94:30, Cathy Mansfield 799th in 95:30 and Jacqui Walsh 866th in 99:11.
