Brilliant performance by David Mansfield

Last Sunday the annual trip to the John Treacy 10 Mile road race took place with the Club very well represented, with 79 athletes competing very well despite a few late withdrawals due to injury and sickness. The conditions were dry while at times throughout the route the wind was strong, still looking at the times conditions were good for racing. David Mansfield was to the fore right from the start and he was in the chasing pack of three in the early stages. As the race unfolded, he gradually reeled in a couple of athletes that saw him move into 4th place as the race entered its final stages. Buoyed by this he maintained that strong pace to finish a very creditable 4th in a new PB of 50 mins 44 secs, the first time to break 51 minutes on this route and smashing his 2019 PB of 51 mins 22 secs, brilliant running.

Joey Feery also ran very well when finishing 97th in 59:23, good to see Joey back running well again after his recent injury.
