The Dublin City marathon did not take place this year but some of our members went further afield to participate in a marathon at this time of year. Angela McCann underlined her good form when running a brilliant race in the Newport marathon last Sunday when winning the over 50 award in a fantastic time of 2 hours 57 mins 34 secs, phenomenal running. This is the best performance by an Irish woman in that category over this Classic distance and may well be a National record, fantastic. Brendan Coffey another frequent visitor to the Dublin City Marathon also ran a brilliant race when finishing in 3 hours 42 mins 30 secs, one of his best performances over this distance.
