Cathal Egan and Ruby Carroll qualifies for All Ireland Cross Country Championships

The Munster Even age group Cross Country championships took place in Riverstick Cork today and although a small group of Clonmel juvenile athletes competed they did the club proud. Large fields were the order of the day with some race entries at 150 competitors. First up was Cathal Egan running in his first championship put in a stellar performance with his 18th place finish and 3rd man home on the Tipperary team that took the bronze medals. This now qualifies Cathal for the National Championships.

Next up were our under 14 girls and all 3 put in great performances with Hannah Murray placing 64th, Lily Casey 77th and Alice Meegan 83th. Onto the under 14 boys and here Darragh Boland put in a fantastic race to again be first Tipperary athlete home in 27th position unfortunately the county could not field a complete team. In the girls under 16 race Meabh Meegan had a great run to place 42nd and again Tipperary were unable to make up a team. Our performance of the day was that of Ruby Carroll who put in a brilliant display of running to place 10th good enough for an individual medal. Ruby also qualifies for the National Championships on November 20th. Well done all. The Munster uneven age group takes place at Limerick racecourse in 2 weeks. Please get entries into the club before 30th October.
