News cane through during the week that Sean Tobin was selected on the Irish Men’s team for the upcoming European Cup 10000m team event in France. This event will take place on May 28th in Pace, France. Also, on the Irish team with Sean are Efrem Gidey of Clonliffe Harriers, Jack O Leary of Mullingar Harriers and Paul O Donnell of DSD. As well as competing for individual and team honours, the European 10,000m Cup also provides an opportunity for these athletes to get qualifying times for the major global championships of the summer such as the 2022 World Athletics Championships as well as the Munich 2022 European Athletics Championships. This is a brilliant achievement by Sean who is currently at a training camp in America. It also marked a wonderful week for Sean as he was announced as the winner of the Athletics Award at the Annerville Awards for 2021.
