The first Open Road Race in the County takes place in Newcastle on Sunday next with their annual 5k starting at 12.30pm. Entries will be taken at the Community Hall in the Village from 10.30am onwards. The Race will start outside the GAA Complex and the race will finish outside the School. All Proceeds goes to Newcastle National School. This year’s prize list is as follows: 1st 3 Men, 1st 0/40, 0/45, 0/50 and 1st 3 Women, 1st 0/35, 1st 0/40 and 1st 0/45. There will also be a prize for the 1st local Man and Woman. The entry fee is 10 Euros and the event will be time managed by Premier Timing Systems. There will be Teas and Refreshments afterwards in the Community Hall. This event has an Athletics Ireland Race Permit and is promoted by Clonmel Athletic Club.
