Last Saturday will go down as a memorable day for Muireann Duffy. She was selected on the Irish under 20 team that competed in the Celtic Cross Country International in Belfast. Despite picking up a slight injury in the days leading up the event, she was determined to put in a great effort. In a race that combined the under 17 and under 20 athletes, the pace was strong from the start. Muireann worked her way up through the field and ran on well when finishing 16th and helped the Irish under 20 team to in the Silver medals, brilliant performance all round. A great way to start the New Year.
