The very popular Galtee Runners 8K took place in good conditions last Friday night and it was great to see Club members to the fore. Kevin Maunsell who is running very well at the moment, made his intentions known from the start when running brilliantly to produce a gun to finish win in a very good time of 23 mins 57 secs well inside the course record of 24 mins 54 secs. Then we had Evan Fitzgerald making his Club debut also running very well when finishing 5th in a very good time of 26 mins 57 secs. Then we had Conor Ryan also making his Club debut and he too should be very pleased with his performance which saw him running very well to finish 12th in 28 mins 41 secs, the future looks bright for the club with such talent coming on stream. Ned O Brien also ran very well when winning the men’s over 60 award in 36 mins 44 secs with Mellissa McCarthy also running very well when finishing in 40 mins 34 secs.
