Jimmy Boland wins O Reilly’s Total Health Pharmacy 4K

The 4th race of this year’s Clonmel AC’s very popular Pre-Christmas 4K road race series, sponsored by O Reilly’s Total Health Pharmacy, Gladstone Street, took place tonight in ideal running conditions. The Club would like to thank Barry Horgan for such generous sponsorship. The Club would also like to thank the Brothers of Charity for the use of their carpark as race headquarters and to the Red Cross for First Aid.

Tonight’s format was a Lucky Dip, this is where predetermined finishing positions are drawn before the race starts and the people who finish in these Lucky positions will win a Cash prize. Tonight’s winners were Aisling English 27th in 17 mins 15 secs and Elaine Morrissey 33rd in 17 mins 33 secs. We also presented special Goody bags to all who competed in three out of the four races. Everyone who competed tonight was entered into a Draw for a very generous Hamper sponsored by O Reilly’s Total Health Pharmacy and the winner was Conor Flaherty who was 4th in 15 mins 19 secs.

The first three Men in tonight’s race were Jimmy Boland 1st in 13 mins 29 secs, 30 seconds faster than his run a few weeks ago over this route. Patrick Roche was 2nd in 14 mins 59 secs and he was 20 seconds faster than his run of a few weeks ago. Andrew Downey was 3rd in 15 mins 4 secs. The first 3 women were Suzanne Shine 1st in 16 mins 48 secs and she was another athlete improving on her past performances. Grainne O Callaghan was 2nd in 16 mins 48 secs and also improving on her previous run. Aisling English was 3rd in 17 mins 15 secs and she likewise was improving on her previous run.

The Club would also like to thank our many stewards who ensured that the whole event was a great success, such help is always greatly appreciated.

Next week our Charity 4k will be in aid of C SAW, a very worthy cause and all monies collected on the night will go towards this Charity, so the more people that participate next Wednesday night, the more money we can donate to this worthy Charity.
