This very popular event took place last Sunday in dry but freezing conditions. Still these conditions didn’t deter our athletes from putting in very good performances. Ross McCarthy ran a great race when dipping under the18 minute barriers when finishing 90th in 17 mins 51 secs. A nice way to end the year having poster 18 mins 14 secs for the Newcastle 5k at the start of the year. Then we had Aidan Flannery also running a very good race when finishing 101st in 18 mins 3 secs. Eelco Beckers is anther athletes that ran very well when finishing 109th in 18 mins 18 secs and this is a massive improvement on his Clogheen 5k run of 18 mins 54 secs
