Great performances at Munster Cross country Championships

The Munster Uneven age group cc championships took place in Conna on Sunday the 10th November and 17 Clonmel athletes travelled. First up were the u11 boys and here Harry Weymouth and Darragh Boland both running for club and county finished 26th and 36th unfortunately the Tipperary team placed fourth.
Next up were the girls u11 and here the Clonmel team was lead home by Eva Gleeson 82nd, with team mates Layla Tideswell 123rd, Alice Meegan 156th and Hannah Murray 161st.
In the u13 boys race Matthew Downey placed 31st and Sean Mullins placed 40th and both were on the Tipperary team that took the Bronze medals. In the u13 race Meabh meegan ran well to place 99th.
In the u15 girls race Ruby Carroll placed 33rd Jane O Donnell placed 38th and Eimear Heafy placed 68th. Both Ruby and Jane made the county team that took the bronze medals. In the boys u15 race Cian Flaherty ran a great race to place 17th and take the silver medal for the county team. In the girls u17 race Laura Cooney ran brilliant to pick up the clubs first individual medal with her 11th place finish. Gillian Hughes and Roise Flaherty also ran well to place 20th and 44th unfortunately Tipperary couldn’t provide sufficient numbers to make a team. In the boys u17 race Conor Flaherty ran well to place 31st but again Tipperary placed just outside the medals in fourth. The final race of the day for Clonmel AC was the combined u19 and Junior ladies and here we picked up our second and third individual medals with Siobhan Whelan placing 5th in the U19 and 8th in the junior ladies.
