The British Milers Track Meet in Loughborough took place last week where the programme included a ser is of 5000m races. The A race included our own Kevin Maunsell and he ran a fantastic race when finishing 7th in a brilliant time of 13 mins 56.36 secs, fantastic achievement and a massive improvement on his previous PB. Indeed, the race was very competitive as 11 out of the top 12 ran Personal Bests. Kevin warmed up for this event with a 3000m race recently in Leixlip where he ran 8 mins 30.2 secs. By my reckoning that is not only a Club record but also a County record as I think the previous Best was set by Dessie O Connor when he ran 14 mins 8 secs.
