The very popular St Senan’s AC Cross Country fixture took place last Sunday in summer like conditions where the going was firm. In the Women’s 3k race Hazel Galloway ran very well to win her category and showed a marked improvement on her recent Moyne performance. Evan Fitzgerald competed in the Senior men’s 7000m race. The National Intermediate Cross Country Champion was well positioned close to the front after the initial charge. Going out on the 2nd lap Evan moved up to the front of affairs and gradually increased the pace that soon saw him draw clear of the chasing pack. He maintained this strong pace to come home very worthy winner. This was a great start to his Cross-Country season. He also won this event in 2020.
