David Ryan wins Cahir RUN4FUN 4 Mile

The Morrison BMW sponsored Cahir RUN4FUN in aid of the Tomas Kelly Trust Fund took place last Wednesday night where conditions were reasonably good despite the strong wind at times. The race started and soon David Ryan (Clonmel AC) went to the front and he set a strong pace and was well clear as they approached the 1st mile mark. David maintained that pace up the steady incline and he was well clear as he came out onto the old Cork Dublin road and on the downhill run to the finish he was full of running. He came home a very worthy and convincing winner in 21 mins 21 secs well clear of the chasing pack. Midway through the race Billy Moloney (Clonmel AC) emerged from the chasing pack and he too put in a great effort over the closing stages to finish 2nd in 23 mins 43 secs. Then we had John O Sullivan of Galtee Runners also running very well over the closing stages to win the over 40 Award in 23 mins 53 secs. Then we had Valerin Thzcoin of Clonmel finishing 2nd over 40 in 24 mins 22 secs. The Women’s race was won impressively by Sharon Kiely in 25 min 14 secs with Aine Roche of Clonmel AC finishing 2nd in 25 mins 46 secs. Marie O Shea of Moroeabbey Milers ran very well when winning the women’s over 40 award in 26 mins 20 secs with Suzanne Shine of Clonmel AC finishing 2nd in 26 mins 31 secs.
