The very popular Clashmore 5k took place last Friday night with the Club well represented. David Mansfield made his intentions known from the start as he and last year’s winner James Ledingham went clear inside the 1k as they set a strong pace. They were still together as they turned for home at 3k. then on the return journey David began to increase the pace gradually and this strong pace saw him draw clear in the final stages to win in 15 mins 44 secs, great running. David was presented with the Edmund Ledingham Cup for his win. Then we had Sean McCarthy running well when finishing 21st in 19:31. Emmett Prendergast also ran very well when finishing 22rd in 19:42 with Dick O Gorman winning the over 50 award in 19:46 and Barry Horgan 27th in 19:52. Elaine Horgan also ran very well when finishing 3rd woman in 21 mins.
