David Mansfield National over 35 marathon Champion, Senior Women win National Marathon Inter Club Bronze medals,

News has filtered through that Athletics Ireland have confirmed the National Marathon Championships Awards.

David Mansfield was crowned national Master men over 35 Marathon Champion following his brilliant run in this year’s Dublin City Marathon. David ran very well when finishing in 2 hours 26 mins 6 secs when finishing 5th Irish man, brilliant achievement.

Our women’s team of Courtney McGuire 1st in 2 hours 32 mins 52 secs, Anne Marie Halpin in 3 hours 10 mins 16 secs and Elaine Horgan in 3 hours 25 mins 50 secs. Their combined times of 9 hours 8 mins 58 secs saw them finishing a clear 3rd. Fantastic achievements all round. We had Courtney becoming the first athletes from the County to win this coveted title and one of the youngest ever winners of this title. We had Anne Marie Halpin setting a new PB for this Classic distance when improving by over 3 mins 43 secs on her Manchester Marathon earlier this year. Elaine Horgan also posted new figures for this Classic event when improving on her 2019 DCM performance of 3 hours 32 mins 33 secs. So brilliant achievements all round and a First National Senior medal for both Anne Marie and Elaine while Courtney was winning her 3rd National Senior medal.
