Clonmel Senior Athletic Club News 28th February

We had a number of members competing at various venues last weekend. In the North Cork AC 5k in Doneraile Park, Jim St John made a welcome return to racing. He ran well when finishing 19th in 21 mins.

On Sunday last the Kilmacthomas 4 mile took place on a new route and there to test it was Conor Fleming. Conor ran well when finishing 27th in 25 mins 6 secs.

The very popular Adare 10k road race took place last Sunday with a sell out event of over 800 athletes. Here the Club was represented by Nicola Maunsell, who was competing in her first 10k for quite some time. She ran very well when finishing in 47 mins 1 sec, close to her PB of a few years ago, looks like her training is going well at present as she was 3rd over 45.

On the home front, the club training sessions are going very well and the Monday night Fit4Life group welcomed back coach Donna Nagle to the fold after her maternity leave. The other Adult group training sessions also on Monday and Wednesday night are also going well at present.
