The 25th Annual Round Tower Hotel sponsored Ardmore 5-mile road race was held last Friday evening and the event celebrated not alone its return after two years, but it celebrated its 25th year. The weather was nice for the race with little or no wind which was ideal for the nights racing. The race attracted an entry of 143 finishers.
The Ladies race saw a first-time winner when Roisin McLoughlin Grange Fermoy AC just held off the effort of Clonmel ACs Angela McCann with only 3 seconds separating the two on crossing the finish line after a great battle served up by both Ladies throughout the whole race. Roisin was running her very first West Waterford summer race and it was to be a winning debut while Angela has won every race in this series of races over the years. Indeed, Angela ran a great race when finishing in 30 mins 18 secs
